The BIG Catch Up List (in no particular order)

1. I actually keep a list of things to blog...can you imagine? It sometimes drives me batty at the amount of stuff I want to do and don't get done. HOWEVER, I am teaching myself not to sweat the small stuff. Kind of a challenge when you are a type D (for dork) personality. LOL!

2. I know I have mentioned the number 3 and its special place in our family. So, it totally makes me smile and tear up to see Bai and Mase grab up the 3's in their uniforms. It was especially cool to see them have the same number. Hope they can always play with a 3 on their back.

3. The first day of school has come and went. This is one of the 'first day of school' pictures. They weren't very good or creative this year but I do have them. Bai wasn't into it and Mason was just plain nervous about school. I should go back and compare other first days. Love seeing the changes.

4. Yesterday morning I put on a flip flop and thought there was a wet piece of grass on it from Bai walking the dog the night before in them. It wasn't. I don't even want to share what it REALLY was.... it still kind of grosses me out. But I am going to anyway because a while from this I might look back and laugh. IT WAS A WORM!!! Yes, totally not kidding. A little sliver of a worm I squished with my foot. It must have somehow grabbed a ride on her flip flop the night before and worked its way to the flat part.....God rest its soul....cause my big ol' foot squished it!!!! Yes, still totally gross. I disinfected my foot and flip flop but STILL TOTALLY GROSS!

5. Forgot to rotate the picture before uploading into blogger.....but you can get the gist of it. I GOT MY MAMMA CANNON BACK!!! The flippin' mother board went out and had to be replaced. Grrrrr, don't even want to talk about it. I am just so happy it is back home. Thank you, thank you, thank you to the Cannon people for fixing her and Shawn for getting her fixed!!!

6. One of the new books I am reading. Totally lifts my spirits and taps into my creative soul. Love this inspirational girl (Kelly Rae Roberts). And I am totally sick of my chubby self....why oh why do I have to be addicted to food?....save that blog for another day.
6. Bai with her teenage attitude look. This is what I have been seeing 80% of the time lately. Had to tell her the boy she is crushing on is ugly, to capture the 'look'....and now I am sharing with you.
7. My cousin Renae at the Labor Day ball-a-thon. I am sure she will hate this picture but I think she is adorable and I love seeing the Davis on the back. Brings back some memories. Goh....it has been almost 16 years since I was a Davis. Funny how that feels.
8. Some how Shawn got talked into playing and then magically I was roped into playing....so here we are with Nae. Must say it was fun. I definitely do not miss the drama of the Davis's but I do miss my roots...how ever messed up and thin they may be. Also note...I didn't like being the oldest cousin there, however I act like I am 16 so it balanced out! LOL.9. Need to go write a paper.

10. Want to go scrapbook.

11. Will go write a paper and listen to the Cubs play.

12. I totally love OUT LOUD Shawn!! He is having some medical things done and we are hoping for the best. Nothing like serious medical issues to make me reevaluate how much my life is entwined with Shawn. Cannot imagine my world without him.

Happy Happy Hump Day!

One on the nursing instructors keep telling our class that we have to "fake it until we make it".
So this is what I am doing today.
Faking that all is good until it is good!

Things are crazy here right now.
Bai has volleyball (YEAH, she made the team this year!!!).
Mase has soccer.
Shawn is coaching soccer (go soccer dad!)
School started back for the kiddos.
I'm knee deep and 15 text books into the nursing program.

We all just do our best.

Mondays ROCK!!

OK, so maybe I am just trying to convince myself of this. LOL!
Back to school today.
No biggie, just more to do.
Kind of excited to get hands on, and have the bs classes behind me.

Must say a couple of things before I continue to blog.
1. Totally forgot to shout out Donna B's HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! It's late I know but I didn't forget, just haven't got everything ready for you. We will carry on the traditions of late birthdays.
2. Speaking of Donna B...thank you sweetie for the card. Much needed and totally made me smile.
3. Miss sweet Leah....thank you for the card that I received in the mail today. Part of my (real) Monday ROCKS!! And also note, I took your advice...ummmm order, to update my blog. LOL! Thanks for caring girlies and continued support.

Now in other 'm' news:
I got my hair straightened.
OH DONNA....must tell you all about this process.
I have had a hate/hate relationship with my hair and cannot even remember the last time I really loved loved loved it.
But thanks to the talented Kelly, I have a love/like relationship with my hair now.
Seriously straight, smooth, and shiny (yes Donna shiny, smooth hair!) WITHOUT 2 hours of straightening and $50 worth of products!!!!!!!!
In fact went to bed with hair wet, woke up, brushed, and wah-laaa, tamed hair!
This is HUGE FOR ME!!!
I'll try and find a better pic but this is all I could find right now. Note the Bailey pose with Bai in the background. Makes me giggle.

Out on the boat yesterday. Took some friends and their daughter. Did the fun "jumping"pictures! This one was my fav.Mason trying to do a back flip. Didn't quite get there. But he will.

Going to get the dishes done and some homework read. Have a 4-9 shift tonight, so I am off.

I Mean Seriously!!!! August?????

Blog.
This one word has been on my list for the past month!
I mean SERIOUSLY!!!!
It is obvious I have not found balance this year not do I manage my time well.
Although I do manage to get some things done (believe it or not).
There will be no way for me to catch up on all that has been going on here.....but here is a itty bitty quick peek. Wii (we) have been bit by the Wii bug and I am obsessed with the wii fit. LOVE, L-O-V-E that thing!!! Totally makes me smile and I feel really great doing the games/exercises. Plus the kids love it. I must say this is a total surprise because I am soooooooo not a game playing kind of girl. Love our Wii!
Made some hula hoops with Nae and her bf. Totally love that girl. She is putting more laughter into my life.
Not saying much about this picture.....but EVERY time I look at it, I totally LOL (literally)!
The family on vacation. We had a cabin on Kentucky Lake. Very relaxing.
My ham....I mean my man. Grrrrrrr, he is such a babe.

Summertime!

This is what we have been doing.
Trying to keep the kiddos from the summertime boredom.
Enjoying the pool in between running, homework, housework, and everything in between.
Finally got the boat out.
Good times.
Really really good times.
(except when we load and unload the boat which totally freaks me out because I can only picture our Endeavor being pulled into the lake by our boat.)

Don't look directly at the icky hat....he can't help his sickness! LOL.
My favorite picture of the summer so far........a boy and his daddy on the boat. Summertime happiness.

And lastly, in the last few weeks I have gotten to know my cousin again. She is younger than me and I kind of seperated from that side of the family for a bit so we grew apart. But let me tell you...she has been exactly what my soul was needing. Must brag a bit and say my cousin ROCKS OUT LOUD! Thanks girlie!

Week in Review (last week)

1. I am really behind. In everything. My life is chaos right now. And I have no one to blame be me and possibly food poisoning (see below) that threw my whole week out of whack.

2. This is what the bathroom looked like at the beginning of the week. Good times here. I have an entirely new outlook on being grateful for my one bathroom (which I complain about having only one bathroom instead of being thankful for that one bathroom!). There is something odd about brushing your teeth at the kitchen sink all the time or putting on your makeup in the dining room deco mirror. 3. Found this picture of Shawn's bleeding hearts on the baby cannon taken by Mason. Thought it was pretty dang creative. I liked the perspective.

4. Had a bad case of food poisoning on Monday. This is totally self diagnosing. I was in class and started not feeling good. So much so that I left class. By the time I got home it was over for me. I won't go into the gory detail....but let me say.....I don't ever want to be that sick again. However, I did lose 3.7 pounds in 2 days (isn't that a silver lining in the cloud of life?).

5. Another picture found on the camera. Little boy toes. Mason makes me totally LAUGH OUT LOUD! Oh but speaking of cameras...I am having issues with my big Cannon. Something with the battery. Cannon wants me to send it in but I am a bit hesitant. Grrrr. Anyone ever had problems? I wish it was something simple....sigh.

6. Had a nice 4th of July. Something was off this year but not sure what. The weather was beautiful. Mason was picked and made it to the semi finals for Kids Fear Factor. He lost to a 14 year old and was devastated for about 2 hours. Bai "hung out" with her friends. I felt stretched thin this year and I am not sure why. Maybe it is the summer school stuff and the bathroom junk and sickness....who knows?!

7. Getting to know some cousins who I haven't spoke with in YEARS. That is nice finding those connections. Maybe I do have some thin little straggly roots after all ;O)

Hip and Updated

Hey!
Just started a myspace thingy.
Why, you might ask??
Well...the main reason is that I have some cousing who I need to make better relationships with and they are all connected on the myspace.
It is kind of strange but I feel updated.
Kind of like the time you got your first cell phone and you felt like you were total coolness.
If feel totally cool!
LOL!
And by the way - I have been informed by the next generation (AKA Bai) that "no one types LOL anymore." Well baby girl not only do I LOL, but I also LMAO and SLOL! So there.
Anyhoo...MUST DO HOMEWORK. I keep putting it off. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr.
