And all that jazz...

For the most part...I generally don't like this time of year.
Sometimes I just feel the whole meaning of the season has been lost.
Sometimes I feel like we do things during Christmas time that we normally wouldn't do out of obligation or guilt and that bothers me.
I would rather have the warm fuzzies of giving and happieness all year long, not when it is so commercialized.
It doesn't help that Shawn and I do not come from solid healthy families.
The traditions you see on TV or hear about are not ours.
We try our best but the season has lost its meaning for us.
Didn't mean to start of my blog on such a downer of a subject...LOL!
Let me find some happiness to share.

1. I'm not sure if you can read the bottom line but I found it when I was going through Mason's homework. It was his spelling words and he had to make a sentence using inspire. He wrote "My Mom inspires me." Yep...totally gave me warm fuzzies!
2. Because I have such awesome kids I'll share a Bailey story. She did a power point presentation of "I love you." By Bailey Moore. I wish I could post it but cannot figure out how. She did a slide for each myself, Shawn, Mason, and our family. A picture of her and each of us and why she loved us, along with the slide being our favorite colors. Totally rocked out loud.

*****This is the kind of stuff I love. The everyday happy stuff.

3. Does anyone else out there have issues with their teenager wanting to wear summer clothes in the dead of winter????? I cannot for the life of me seem to get Bailey to stop wearing slip on shoes without socks. Drives me nuts! Guess it is equal to when I used to go to school with my hair wet in winter and my mom would say it was going to freeze and break off. (It never did so I guess Bailey's feet wont freeze and fall off)

4. At lease she does wear a scarf..... when we went Christmas tree hunting she did wear a scarf, although she didn't bring gloves. GRRRRR. I gave her mine with a lecture. Do you think the lecture helps?........someone please tell me the seeds get planted they just take a while to grow....

5. I have been working on making some Christmas presents in my studio. Sooooooo flippin' nice to have time to create. Going back in as soon as I am done blogging and I am setting all projects aside to do a scrapbook page! (Just typing that totally made me smile)
6. Me and my love. I might have mentioned a time or two that I love this man.....even when he acts like my third child.
6. This week I have made a homemade meal EVERY NIGHT! Love that. Life is so much smoother around our home when we have a 'domestic engineer' (AKA wife, stay at home mom).
7. Mason was a bit excited to decorate the Christmas tree. He kept singing the 12 days of Christmas which was the song they learned for the Christmas program. He is on the fence about Santa (I have issues about the Santa thing but I will save it for another blog in which I don't sound like such a scrooge). This boy has an incredible about of creativeness.....just need to harness and organize it. LOL!

Catch up to you all later.
Hugs and happies.

HERE I AM.....

OK, seriously?!
For some reason it seems there is something in the air going against me to blog!
Went to blog here this afternoon and my computer totally goes ape-poop.
Ended up having to unplug everything and start all over.
Grrrr.
Wish I was more computer literate! Maybe when I finish school I will take a computer class.
So anyhoo...
here is my list of Michelle's random blog thoughts:

1. DONE with this semester of school. Only 3 more to go until I can sit for the RN boards! WOOT WOOT!

2. Really don't like it being cold.....

3. Here is a picture that makes me smile for many reasons. 1. Bai jumped in the shot of Shawn taking a picture of me in pig tails. 2. I am wearing pig tales (it was a pig-tail-test-day) 3. You can see the prom picture of me and Shawn...a long time ago! AND here in a couple of years Bai will be going to prom...too funny how fast time goes by.4. Working on getting my Christmas cards out today in between naps, blogging, and a bit of cleaning...and I do mean "a bit".

5. Another picture I found on my camera that made me laugh when I was uploading. Bai's bf came over and the kiddos were playing wii. Bai was taking pictures and her bf isn't so much of a picture taker. LOL! And just to point out...Bailey's look is IDENTICAL to Shawn's pouty-mad face, and Mason's look is IDENTICAL to my 'heeeeeyyyy' face.

6. I am working on a little book blog....inspired TOTALLY by Ms Leah. But that will have to wait until another day because as it stands right now, Mason is looking over my shoulder asking if I am done yet....think he wants my attention.
7. Have to work in the ED tomorrow. Good times.
8. I have about 10 projects I am working on and actually have ALL of next week to do them! Woot Woot! (again)
9. Watched Stepbrothers the other day and have to say it cracked me up!!! Usually it takes me a couple of times to watch those stupid man movies before I can find the humor, but this one had me flippin' LAUGHING OUT LOUD.
10. My word for 2009 (I think) will be GO. Go with the flow. Go do... Let it GO. Go get 'em. Go Michelle! Go out and find your happies. Go make people happy. Go create. Let's GO together. GO!
speaking of Go...I've got to go.
Mason needs mom time.
A quick note: I used capital letters a lot in the blog and it makes me giggle.
Hugs and happies.

A List As Big As My......

Hey all.
As usual, I have a long list of things to share and know I will forget most of it until after I log off....but here are some things:

1. Thanksgiving was very nice. My super uber cool cousin Renae had a dinner at her house the day after Thanksgiving and was soooo nice and relaxing. No family drama, no 'why don't you call us', no guilt at having a busy life and being a poor manager of time....just nice relaxing fun. She rocked the ham too!
2. I have one more day and one more final and I am DONE with this semester!!! WHOOT WHOOT!

3. I really, really, like this picture of Bailey. It was taken on Thanksgiving and not sure what it is because she is getting ready to stick out her tongue to be a sassy girl, but I really like this picture.
4. Mason and his GG (great-grandma). GG is Shawn's grandma...how lucky he is to still have his grandma's.
5. Shawn and I with our matching outfits..that HE totally did! OK, he really didn't I did after he was dressed but all day I totally blamed him. LOL!

6. Shawn's cousin Cecily....totally makes me LAUGH OUT LOUD looking at this picture!

7. Noticed the other day that Mason is getting the pre-puberty chubbiness that happens before you really start to grow into a little man. About made me want to cry! I told him that if he was going to start growing armpit hairs I was going to pluck them while he slept. LOL! He said "yeah, right mom".
8. Love, love, LOVE Tim Holtz's 12 tags of Christmas! Go to his blog and post for some goodies and for some inspirations.
9. Have to go to work tonight...bleck!
10. We had the first snow and first snow day for the kiddos. Loved the snow fresh...don't so much like the mushy, black, wet melty stuff after.
11. Going to get Christmas tree this weekend I think...we shall see what the boss has planned.
12. Watched the movie Handcock and really liked it. Has Will Smith ever been in a bad movie?
My mind is going blank....hahaha, yeah - I know totally normal for me.
So I am going to go pick Mason up from school and work in my studio a bit before I go off to work.

Wacky Wednesday.....

Here it is Wednesday.

A better day for me because A.) I to go back to sleep after kiddos went to school B.) I had no school C.) there is nothing I HAVE to do today except work tonight 4-9 D.) I get to blog and share with you my wackiness and obviously if you are here....reading, you {heart}me or I just make you smile....OR you stalk me and wanna know my business. All of which are perfectly fine because I lay it out there for you.

So for all of you out there just hanging on, grab the rope, grab some coffee..tea...soda...whatever and relax. It really is true that "you are only as happy as you make up your mind to be"...or something like that. I tend to forget that in the drama of my life. It may sound like BS but it really is true. If you want to be miserable with things then you will, if you choose to let them go and move on then you will....I just have the damnedest time letting go of things. So often you hear my moan and groan, but I am venting most of the time.

So here is my Wacky Wandom (Random with a W...duh) Wednesday Wlog..you got the blog part right? ;O) In list form....my favorite

1. This sweet little girl came home from school yesterday and was squealing, hoping around like a banchee all excited about something. Come to find out she gets to take drivers ed NEXT FLIPPIN' SEMESTER!!!! Pause here. Had to take a deep breath after I typed that. That means my. baby. girl. will. be. driving. in. 1 1/2 months!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Deep breath. We'll just let that soak in for a while. LMOA! 2. Speaking of kiddos....ummm Bai DRIVING!!! I had to send a note for her to school to ride a different bus and thought again, as I always do when I write a note to the school, that this is so strange. I feel like I'm not old enough to be sending an official letter to the school. Isn't that the weirdest?

3. Must say I loved, LOVED, L-O-V-E-D the movie Wal-E! Totally made me giggle, loved the story of love, recycling, becoming an inactive chubby society with our laziness.....sigh...a really good movie.

4. I am so thankful for many, many things. but I am really REALLY thankful for the gas prices coming down. I filled my car for less that $25 and it lasted all week. Our budget totally needs that...especially before the holidays!

5. Speaking of budgets....I can't seem to follow one. LOL! I bought an Emily Falconbridge camera strap. Couldn't help myself....well I could but chose not to. It's so beautiful and the ribbon is from her trip to Thialand....sigh....cannot wait. Won't share any more, I'll post a picture when it comes in.

6. For anyone of the people in my small world who may misunderstand my complaining about nursing school, I just want to clear up a couple of things. First I CHOSE to go to through Heartland's program for a number of reason. And while it might not be the best program and it might not be picture-perfectly flow together----I will make the most of it, I will go that extra bit needed to become the kick-ace nurse that I know I will be! I will become stronger with this journey of not being hand-held and having to self-teach more....even when I bitch about it. So thank you to those whom I lean on when the pressure gets tough and for those understanding my venting.

7. 3Q's and a T (3 Questions and a truth) and you all better answer in the comment section! LOL! 1. What is your favorite animal? 2. What are you thankful for? 3. Who is the best kind of listener for you...one who just listens, or one who listens and adds opinions? TRUTH: I totally get freaked out walking up my stairs at night in the dark and end up sprinting up the last half...always picture someone coming up behind me in the dark. Weird huh? Think I watch too many scary movies!!! LOL!

Alright...enough of me....let's hear from you.
I'm off to stalk some blogs.
Hugs and happies.

Manic Monday

I had a brilliant weekend.
I chose to do very little of what I 'needed' to do and instead did more of what I 'wanted to do.
Again, I had a brilliant weekend.
However, like when you go out partying and are drinking, having a flippin' blast with uninhibited fun...eventually after too much, you end up throwing up. (Not that this has every happened to me, cough, cough...well at least not in the last 10 years!)
Today is my throwing up day.
My list is full.
My stress is high.
BUT!!!! My weekend was brilliant!
I created cool things...and even a couple of presents.
I read.
I slept in.
I wasted time.
I stalked blog...yes...YOU!!! Even if I didn't comment I was there!
I went to the Guns and Hoses hockey game (local game between fire department and police departments. Good times.

Bailey with her bf. They really are a cute little couple. I know this picture is out of focus but it totally made me LOL! She is so ornery...gets it from her daddy!
Mason cheering for our good friend Mike Fry (he was one of my paramedic partners and works for the fire dept)

An exciting game....in kind of a slow motion way. LOL! Definitely not professional players. But fun! AND the Hoses won. WHOOOT WHOOOT! In OT no less!
Me and my man before he shaved his choom (that is Michelle-speak for a chin with a broom looking growth of hair off of it). THANK YOU, THANK YOU Shawn for trimming that off.

Me and Lisa with her new smarty pants glasses. And I am thinking (and have been, when I see certain pictures of myself) that my glasses are too big for my face. Not that I can do anything about if for another year...but I wonder what made me pick these big bad boys....hmmmm, probably because Shawn or Bailey wasn't there to help me. LOL!

And Shannon, I know you won't like this one but it made me happy seeing your picture on my camera....Lisa took this of you and you were "what the heck are you doing". LOL! I miss ya and hope you are having a fabulous week! AND I really like the haircut on ya!
A shout out to Leah.....cannot tell you (again and again and again) how much I love your photography. I have a couple of questions for you about resizing a picture. Let me know the best way to send you message...ie blog comment, email, facebook, etc ;O) Hugs to you girlie.
Another shout out to Donna. Sweet sweet Donna B, I'm taking a big sip of coffee and wishing you were my neighbor to share real live moments with you. Are you going to the Donna D Inspired next year????
And my last shout out is to RILEY.....girl....call or text me so we can have lunch. Love your new blog...you are such a cutie-patootie!
I should go now.
Need to make drug cards and a concept map for tomorrow's clinical.
Hugs and happies.

Lazy Day

A lazy day.
This is good.
I need a lazy day.
Although I have this feeling that there are things that need to be done....OK, there ARE things that need to get done. But I am having a lazy day.
Actually it is 2:33PM and I am still in my PJ's. Not even kiddin'.
I have scrapbooked a bit (for all of my crafty friends).
Creating is sooooo my therapy.
I really do need to make more time for it.
Put this layout together yesterday. Like the picture above because it has some creating goodies like ink, adhesive, my craft mat, stamps....the stuff that makes me happy. The picture blow is the layout. Simple, quick and fun.A bad picture of this layout but it really did turn out cute. I love the story captured....even if it is just a snippet of it. You probably can't read the journaling but Bai had gotten in this habit of calling me 'dawg'. Like 'dawg, can you hand me that" or 'thanks dawg". She always said it with a smile and in joking but it was getting to the point I didn't like. So I asked her to stop. When she continued I went old school parenting and she ended up having to write 'I won't call my mom dawg' 100 times. She didn't like it, and Shawn thought it was stupid but you know what.....she hasn't called me dawg since. And she even told all her friends about it, which means it meant something to her. LOL!

Sharing Bai's new haircut......before.

.....after.This was HUGE for her. She is getting used to it. Looks better without the flips...more edgy. She loves the new bangs and how the hair feels in a pony tail. She also loves not dealing with all the hair. Last pic to share ....cause I am on a Bailey kick. LOL
Shawn and Bai.
Don't you love how they make a heart in this pic? LOVE THAT!!!!!!! Off to go be lazy...and I am totally lying.
I'm off to flip the laundry and work on some homework.
BUT first, I am going to check out Riley's new blog....love that girl! She is such a beautiful thing inside and out!
AND I am creating something fun and spectacular tonight!
Hugs and happies,
m

Grrrr.
Off to find a computer guy/girl.

Heyyyyyy....Michelle is in da house!

...and I am supposed to be studying!!! BUT literally, I have been studying for the past 2 hours and I need a break!
Besides, I have to update my blog. I am so sick of "update blog" being on my list EVERY SINGLE DAY! LMAO!!!! So for this week I am able to cross it off. WHOOOO HOOOO!

As always I have so much to share and not enough time. Here in no particular order are some tidbits of my life:

1. School is moving along. I have just decided to get through the hoops day by day and week by week. The nursing program I am in is horrible. I am not just saying that to complain...those of us who are left in the program ALL feel the same way. Such a shame because the resources are there for it to be an excellent program. Sigh.....4 more weeks and then I have a break. My little light at the end of the tunnel.

2. Carving pumpkins this year.... didn't gag at the pumpkin guts, yeah me! Bai (obsessed with new bf) carved "D+B" into her pumpkin and Mason did a "regular pumpkin face". Shawn helped with the pumpkin art and knife usage and I took pictures. (note: the red in Mason's hair is not a new color...it is a temp color for red ribbon week "crazy hair" day.) 3. My lovely little girl....turning into such a composed young woman......sigh (again). She is half way through her freshman year and is doing great. Volleyball just finished so she gets a breather from such a long day. I am so very proud of who she is. Really and truly she is such a beautiful person on the outside and inside.
4. Winter is on it's way again. We had a warm front come through and that was soooo nice. Now - cold and not so nice. I've really, REALLY got to get our winter stuff out!
5. Got a new sassy haircut. Not really a new one because I had this cut last year, but I didn't have the straightener in it. After the first day I looked like a frizzy head girl trying to do a sassy haircut. Didn't work. Ended up with pony 9.5 days out of 10. BUT now.....ummm, sassy! LOL!

6. A quick attempt at some Moore jump pictures. YES, that is my big ol belly hanging out. Kept trying to tuck in my shirt but it kept coming out. I'm chunky and proud of it! Just kidding but seriously......giggle, giggle. I LOVE these jump pictures (although one of these people ain't like the others).

7. Finished a scrapbook page the other night. It has been a loooooong while. LOVED IT! Totally made me happy to create it. I mean really and truly happy. Cannot wait til the Nov 22nd crop I signed up for.
8. Loved this picture of the tree in our yard. So pretty against the blue sky.

9. Shawn goes back to work tomorrow. He went to the doctor this week and has been released. Pathology came back and the tumor was not cancerous. BIG SIGH! He is doing great. I might have mentioned a time or two...I love that man <3
That's all for the updates.
See you on Wednesday (or maybe, just maybe before)
Hugs and happies.

Sending everyone happiness.

Fly By

An awesome picture taken of my hubby on his 4wheeler jumping a hill of dirt by the talented (closet scrapper because he loves what his wife creates!) Gavin.
There will be no more riding of the 4wheeler for a while because it is in a million pieces. Shawn decided to "rebuild' it. Boys and their toys.....sigh.

A little fly by blogging...
1. I am down 6 pounds. Yeah me. Yes....it is the same 6 pounds that I have gained and lost for the past 2 years but I am determined to push past that an get back into my hot momma pants!

2. Keep Shawn in your thoughts this week. His surgery is Wednesday and he can use all of the positive thoughts and prayers he can get.

3. Haven't really told you about Bai's homecoming but the bottom line was she was beautiful and I cried. I mean holy crap!!!! That is my baby girl looking like a little woman. I only have 3 years with her until she is out of high school...how can that be. SIGH.... I must say though that we do like her current bf. He is a sweetie and a cutie and he treats her very nice. Also....he still gives his mom hugs in front of people which is totally coolness. AND you know what they say. A man will treat his girl like he treats his momma.

4. I need to take more pictures!!! Fall (my absolute favorite season) is slipping away. Not to mention time and life. GOL!....seriously I giggled out loud;O)

5. I am so very thankful. There are many times I don't say it or show it enough because I am usually bitchin' about something but I AM SOOOOO THANKFUL!!!! My goal this week is to say it and show it more.

6. Happy Birthday Jeff! The bestest stepdad EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Glad you are now playing with a full deck....hehehehe that is from Mom!

My fly time is about up.
Talk to you all soon.
Hugs and Loves.

So Much to Catch Up On....

***Total random blog, out of order and chaotic (hand on to your seats)
1. Took in a lost dog. He is a gracious old soul named Oliver. This is soooo what I don't need added in my life right now but he was homeless and needed us. He is such a good dog. sigh.....anyhoo meet the two babies of our family. Booda and Oliver...thier personalities are like Odus and Garfield. 2. Happy late birthday to my other half. Kind of a rough birthday for him this year. He found out he has a tumor and although they think it is benign, he still has to have surgery in the next couple of weeks to remove it. Please keep him in your thoughts.
3. Mase just finished up his soccer season. They had a tough year....a good learning year. He had fun and that is all that matters.
4. The old pink stove in the old school where Mason plays soccer totally makes me smile every time I went to the bathroom and passed it. Can't you just see June Cleaver here?
5. Bai's first homecoming....sigh....more on that next blog with better pictures.
6. Me trying not to cry. She was so beautiful and grown up....sigh....more on that later.

7. My favorite picture of Bai so far this month.
8. Gotta run (not got the runs)....just wanted to shout out to you all (Sweet Donna!!!). Miss you tons. More for you later.
Hugs and loves.

Throwing a Curve Ball...

Hey all!
Throwing a curve ball and I am actually blogging on TUESDAY!
I know, I am just crazy like that ;o)
My list for today...well some of it actually.

1. I haven't uploaded any pictures lately so I went searching for some that made me smile in an old Aug/Sept file. Because YOU know I can hardly blog without pictures!! LOL! The pictures on today's post are all from Aug/Sept 2004. I am a bit shocked at how freaking fast time goes. I mean, I know it does but WOW....it REALLY DOES! 2. Bailey made the ballot for freshman homecoming court. I think they announce today which freshman will make it. It really is a win win for her because if she makes it ... great have a blast with it, and if she doesn't then that works too because the freshmen never win homecoming around here and she isn't missing anything. She is sure growing up, isn't she?

3. Met Bai's new boyfriend on Sunday. He seems to be a very nice well mannered boy. What happened to the other bf you might ask.....well, I really don't want to say I told you so, but I TOTALLY said that it wouldn't last. You see he was a grade behind her and it just wasn't in the cards for a freshman to have an 8th grader as a boyfriend. GASP! Which is just fine. I want Bai to know what she does and doesn't want in a companion.

4. The family is doing well. We are all kind of tired because it is just a crazy time for us. Shawn is having some back issues, thinking it might be a disc, hoping it isn't. I am so thankful his tumor was a benign one that I can move on to fixing his back! Poor guy just feels like he is falling about and well....he kind of is. Need to get HIM healthier! Have I ever mentioned that I TOTALLY AND COMPLETELY LOVE THAT MAN? Maybe? LOL!

5. Speaking of getting healthier, I started back to weight watchers...again. Yes, I know you have heard it before but damn....something has got to work! Weight watchers worked for me before, I just have to commit to moving my ace and not eating like I am a hog. Portion control and activity (not just scrapbooking!) for longer than 4 weeks. My mind is set this time...again! lol...no, seriously. I even passed up chocolate fudge covered brownies at our morning clinical meeting! I. Am. Serious.

6. Mason made the safety patrol at school. He has Mondays and yesterday morning he helped the little kids off of the bus in the morning and directed parent pick up traffic in the afternoon. He loved it! His last soccer game is this Saturday. Not sure what is next on his little agenda.

7. I have a 'follower' listed on my blog. Made me giggle! Which one of you pretties is my follower?

Think I need to go. There is homework screaming my name...good times.

Hugs and happies.

Wednesday Is My Rock Day

1. Not sure what exactly it is about Wednesdays but it seems to have become my bloggin day. Although I almost made it 3 posts in a row last week...almost but not quite!

2. Bought a new bag for $4 that totally made me happy. It might seem strange to some that I can find happiness in a Dollar General bag...but I do! The colors scream MICHELLE!!! And ummm, hello? $4!!!!!

3. Another 'sleeping' picture. For some reason when I loaded a couple of these pictures they rotated...and I even took the flippin' time to make sure they were rotated BEFORE I uploaded. You know the crazy stuff I do sometimes....LOL! Anyhooo. My sweet baby girl who is not so much of a girl any more but is still sweet - until she sees I've posted this picture of her....LOL (again, I seriously laughed out loud!) but she doesn't take the time to read my blog so I am safe! Also note the cell phone....always, always with her. In her world the cell phone is a life line to her friends. Ahhhhh.... the youth today.

4. GO CUBS GO!!!! I have class until 12:30 on Thursday and I am hoping beyond hope they win tonight and I will get to watch them win tomorrow and clench the division. How cool would that be.....I'll tell you....totally flippin' coolness!!!!! I am telling you, this is the year....IT HAS TO BE!

5. I have been able to do some creating. Here is the new In Color pack from Stampin' UP. I made a mini album for a door prize at the party I had last Friday. The picture really doesn't do those colors justice, they are yummy!

6. Here is another project quickly put together for my little Stampin' Up party. A Random Memories album. I actually ran out of the sample papers and didn't get this finished but really it only took me 45minutes...and that was thinking about how I wanted the album to be and changing some ideas.
7. Just to continue my show and tell....her is one of the pages. The whole album is full of random pictures I pulled that reminded me of a little snippet or memory. My whole family LOVES this album and keep looking at it. Funny how memories can make you happy.
8. My last show and tell and I might have already posted this but I had to post it because it made me smile (again) when I came across it in my layout file. Although this is another picture that rotated on its own...stupid computer stuff! I had this laying out on my desk and Shawn said he liked it but wasn't sure of the crown...and Mason said "dad, I like your tierra" which made us all laugh because he was serious. Shawn said..."It's not a tierra! It's a crown" LOL!
9. School is moving along in a comfortable pattern. There are things that we have to do in which I call "hoops" because it doesn't really make a bit of difference if you do them or not, and do not really learn anything from them, but it is a hoop you have to go through to get to where I want to be.

10. I am running out of time for this blog.....but still have my blog list! LOL! I'll try to post more tomorrow. Hope you all are having a sunshiny day.

Loves and hugs.

Thursday-Schmursday!

A speedy blog.....
My first day of clinicals.
Did not go bad except the little lady who threw her teeth at me.
Felt like a goober in the white nursing student uniform.
Not to mention I turn into Mason and become a magnet as soon as I put on anything white. Crappy picture of me, hair still wet...in my eye...doing a silly little pose thingy to show off my HCC Nursing Student patch. Anyway...this is my new wardrobe while doing clinicals. Hugs and loves.
